Summary: When Haru starts to fail math Hatori has Kyo tutoring him. While being tutored Haru and Kyo start to fall in love with each other. Will they ever tell the other?

Part One~ A: Let the Tutoring Begin! What is brewing?

Haru's POV 

I didn't know when it had happened or how but it had. I had fallen in love. Again. Maybe it was because of all the time I had been spending over at Shigure's house trying to get Yuki's attention or maybe it had to do with all the tutoring that he had been giving me, whatever it was it caused me to fall out of love with Yuki and in love with him. Who you ask am I in love with? Kyo. That's who I've fallen in love with. Do you want to know how? Okay, okay, I'll tell you....... 

It all started when I began to fail math.................... 

~~~flashback~~~ 

"Haru, you need to start applying yourself more in school. I got a notice today that you are failing math. I have spoken with Akito and he has agreed that you need a tutor, so from now on, every other day Kyo will accompany you home and will help you. I want no fighting. You will study and do homework. Understood?" Hatori lectured Haru. 

"Yeah." 

"I have already instructed Momiji to leave you two alone while you are working to prevent distractions. Kyo will start tutoring you tomorrow." 

So the next day Kyo walked me home, grumbling the entire time, might I add. "Baka Ushi, can't even do math. Why do I have to tutor you? ~grumble grumble~ Why can't Hatori tutor you or maybe Momiji. He has the same class and he's passing, so HE should be the one to tutor you. ~grumble grumble~." 

It went something like that the whole way home.

End Haru's POV 

It had been a week since Kyo had started tutoring Haru. Nothing was improving manly because Kyo kept losing his temper every time he had to explain something to Haru a million times. (A/N* sry for making it look like Haru is really stupid. I promise he's not and that he gets better.) 

"Damnit Haru! I've explained the equation six times already. What don't you understand about it?!" Kyo practically screamed at Haru. "You're never going to pass math if you can't even get one stupid equation. Think Baka Ushi! You're not THAT stupid, you should be able to get this!!" 

"You don't think I'm stupid?" Haru asked quietly, he had expected Kyo to rant and rave about how stupid he was because he couldn't grasp the current lesson he was being taught. He was surprised at what Kyo actually said. For some reason it actually made him feel good that Kyo wasn't insulting him, it made him feel warm. 

"Huh? Didn't I just say that I didn't think you were stupid?! Hah! Now I know why you're failing math, you can't hear. Better get Hatori to get you hearing aids like an old man. **sigh** Contrary to what everybody says Haru, you are NOT stupid so try the equation again....use the short cut." 

~Hatori who had been listening to Kyo shout from the kitchen smiled at what Kyou had told Haru. It was true Haru was actually very smart he was just a little slower grasping some things and it intimidated him when people told him he was stupid and slow or couldn't do something. Especially when it was someone in the family. 

He wondered what would develop from that conversation. Hatori already knew that Haru's so called love for Yuki was diminishing. There was only so long a person could go with his love not returned. He idly wondered if perhaps Haru and Kyo would become an item. He would be pleased if they got together. He had really never thought that Yuki was a good partner for Haru and was secretly pleased that he hadn't returned Haru's feelings. 

The Sohma family Dragon also knew that if Haru decided to pursue Kyo that it would be tenuous and that he would have to proceed very cautiously lest he scare the timid and temperamental Cat away. He would have to call and talk to Ayame and Shigure. They would love to hear this. Little did the others know that Hatori was a pervert and a slight sadist. Why else would he hang out with Aya and Shigure all the time?

~ Part One B: Thoughts from Kyo. What are these feelings? 

Kyo's POV 

I have been tutoring Haru for almost two months and he's improving immensely. He really is smart. Lately he and Momiji have been eating lunch with me at school, well Momiji usually runs off and moochs up to his female admirers and leaves Haru and I alone to talk. We talked about anything that comes across our minds and we've became friends. He still goes Black but it isn't as often and I'm usually not the cause. 

Why do Haru and Momiji want to hang out with me? I still yell and fight with them and I'm still temperamental and yet they want to, what? Be my friends? I dunno. Haru's still Haru. Still quiet and mysterious and Momiji is still hyperactive and annoying. I'd never tell him but I consider him a little brother of sorts. 

And lately when I'm tutoring Haru or near him during lunch or just plain near him I get this weird warm butterfly feeling in my gut. I find myself thinking about a lot and I get the butterfly feeling. every time he looks at me and especially when he smiles at me I get that feeling and I guess I kind of like it. I like being near him. I like him paying attention to me without wanting to fight me. I like him. What!! NO!! I can't like Haru. He's a boy. He's my cousin. I do not like Haru!! Oh, who am I kidding, I admit it. I like Haru. Great. I like someone who will never like me back. The cat is unlovable. 

Wait! Maybe Haru likes me and that's why he's hanging out with me. No.. Haru likes Yuki. He would never like someone like me. Haru probably figured out that I like him and is only hanging out with me to either let me down easy if I ever told him or he's trying to humiliate me. Yeah that's probably it. Well I won't fall for it if he's trying to humiliate me. I won't! No matter how much I want someone to love me. I won't! 

End of Kyo's POV 

With that Kyo walked home to deal with his feelings and sort everything out over the weekend.

"I think it's so sweet that you like Kyo-kun, Haru." Momiji said cutely. 

"What!!" Haru's head shot up. Up until now he wasn't really paying attention to what Momiji was saying but that got his attention real quick. "Who told you that I liked Kyo?"

"Nobody. It's pretty obvious to me. You're always staring at him and you always ask him for extra help even when you really don't need it. You always want to hang out with him and stuff." 

Haru's eyes were wide with panic by now. All of the things that Momiji said were true but Haru didn't think that he was that obvious. 

"Y...You won't tell him will you?" Haru's normally confident voice had receded to a shuddering whisper. 

Momiji looked at Haru in surprise. He never hid his feelings. What was up with Haru? 

"What's up Haru? Why don't you want him to know? You were all over Yuki trying to get him to notice you and love you back." 

"Kyo's different. He's not like Yuki. I have to be careful around him. I don't want to scare him off. He'll probably think I'm messing with him so I have to lead him into any type of relationship cautiously. I've only just gotten his friendship, I don't think he's ready for anything else." Haru said quietly but with total confidence. "Don't worry Momiji I have a feeling that this will work out for the best." 

"I trust you Haru. And don't worry! I'll help you win Kyo-kun's heart. I'm a master at romance. Did you know that Hatori actually has a crush on both Shigure and Ayame? He does. I noticed how he always watches them and how he still hangs out with them and says that they're his friends even though he calls them perverts and stuff. And one night when he was upset I heard him talking to himself in his room. I'm working on getting Ha-san and Aya and 'Gure all together so I'll help you too. I'll help you because your my friend Haru. 'Kay?" 

As Momiji bounced off, Haru hoped that he wouldn't do anything too extreme and scare Kyo off or announce to the whole world that Haru liked Kyo. He really wanted this thing with Kyo to work out. He really liked Kyo, even thought he was in love with him already but wasn't sure because it felt different from when he was in love with Yuki. He would just have to wait and see and hope that, if Momiji did do any damage it wouldn't be too bad and Haru could fix it. He would just have to wait and see.
